Mayor Geno Martini

Geno Martini has served as the City’s 24th Mayor since February, 2005. Mr. Martini is currently the longest-serving mayor of Sparks.

Mayor, City Council, and City Manager General Information

The City of Sparks has a council/manager form of government where the mayor and city council make policy decisions which the city manager and his staff implement. The mayor and five member council, are elected for staggered four year terms. The City Manager is Steve Driscoll.

Ward 1

Councilman Donald Abbott was elected to his first term serving the City and residents of Ward 1 in November 2016.

Ward 2

Ed Lawson was elected to the City Council in November, 2010, and reelected in 2014. He was born in Sunnyside, WA, and grew up in Las Vegas, NV. He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.

Ward 3

Ron Smith was elected to the City Council in November 2006, and was re-elected to a four-year term in 2008, and again in 2012. After 42 years in the grocery business, Ron is now working for High Sierra Industries, an organization supporting people with disabilities.

Ward 4

Charlene Bybee was elected to serve Ward 4 on the Sparks City Council in November 2014. Ms. Bybee is a lifelong Sparks resident who has been an active community leader for more than 30 years.

Ward 5

Councilman Kristopher Dahir was elected to his first term serving the City and residents of Ward 5 in November 2016.
